I was Inspired by Audi R8 and Shelby Mustang

I have jumped from one job to another. Have been a property consultant and then a supervisor. Now, by God’s grace, I was blessed with an opportunity to become a general manager of an upcoming brand of cars: Great Wall Motors.

It’s all good except for one thing: I’m not a car savvy. Meaning, I’m really not into cars.

It’s really important for me to get myself interested with cars as I would be in the automotive industry. I know that I’ll be more effective that way. So what I did was I tried to immerse myself in cars. I talk to car enthusiasts, play racing games, reading auto blogs, browsing some pictures, going to auto shops, reading car how-to’s, attending car shows, and so on.. I need an inspiration. I want to be interested or better yet, be in love with cars and the industry itself.

One Sunday morning, when I was driving myself to work, I suddenly hear a loud ZOOOM!! Then a yellow Porsche 911 Carrera-S appeared in front of me. About 5 seconds after, another Porsche appeared – this time it’s colored white. A little later 2 Porsche’s, a black and an orange zoomed pass me. I then look at the rear mirror to see if there’s more. But then I saw an unfamiliar face…such a beautiful thing to see…headlight glows like the stars in the night…tantalizing white paint job…and it’s coming…fast. Really fast.

As that gorgeous thing pass me by, I made sure that I won’t miss the chance to know her. So I looked at her rear name plate…it says…Audi R8…*hick* I’m in Love.

That was the first time that I felt very inspired about cars. Every time I go online, I Stumble on cars. I’ve been browsing for cars for quite sometime now, and another car made me feel inspired. It’s the Ford Shelby Mustang – Awesome muscle car.

I’m really thankful to those brand of cars for being an inspiration.

I now consider myself as an automobile/automotive enthusiast. :D

Watch out for Great Wall Motors this November.

Question to self: Do I love the industry I’m in?

Thoughts to ponder: Do you feel like you’re becoming less effective towards your work? Perhaps you just need a little inspiration.

The R8 is a cracking car, but I have to say it does not work in orange! It needs to be silver, white or dark blue!

Looking forward to the Lexus LFA which is coming soon as a direct rival.

Let me know if you want any help – I worked for car manufacturers in Europe for many years before I became a blogger, and I remain a total petrol head!

@Mike CJ: LOL! Yeah Audi R8 doesn’t work well in orange. ;P Just saw the photo and thought that it would blend in my blog’s theme. :)

Perhaps I should check out this upcoming Lexus LFA. Thanks so much for that offer Mike, I really appreciate it.

What car manufacturer you worked for?

Hoping to learn from you! More power!

God Bless you Mike.

I was with Ford Motor Company in UK, then Toyota / Lexus, then for many years Volkswagen in Northern Europe.
