Update Facebook and Twitter on Sun Cellular

Tweet and/or update your Facebook status on the go with Sun Cellular.

Here’s how:

Facebook

  1. You need to be a Facebook member or create a new account at http://www.facebook.com.
  2. Install the application found at http://apps.facebook.com/sunalertz.
  3. Complete the mobile verification process.
  4. To update your status, text FB <status> e.g. FB Check out JeD Chan.com! to 2555. P1/txt.

Twitter

  1. You need to be a Twitter member or create a new account at http://www.twitter.com
  2. Login to your Twitter account via mobile by texting LOGIN <Twitter username> <Twitter password> to 2555 for free.
  3. Send a twit by texting TW <message> e.g. TW Check out JeD Chan.com! to 2555. P1/txt.


 

Note: If you have both Twitter and Facebook accounts, you may set the same status in both sites simultaneously by texting STAT <message> to 2555. P1/txt. (Max of 140 characters)

To receive  alertz from your friends and have unlimited access to the service, choose from any of the subcription packages available:

BUY 1 – 15/day

BUY 7 – P50/7 days

BUY 30 – P150/30 days

WEEK ON – P50/week

MONTH ON – P150/week

a) To subscribe, text BUY <# of days> to 2555. Ex. BUY 30.

b) You may only extend your subscription up to 5x/day by texting BUY <# of days> to 2555.

c) You may also set your auto-renewal preference online via Sun Alertz Facebook.

    Am I supposed to get a confirmation message after I do the above?

      @mrwhitepatch: No, you just have to login once. :) everytime you tweet there will be a message from 2555 that your twitter status is already updated.

      @yann: 2555 replies to you almost instantly. Where are you located if I may ask? Because I have some experiences when I went to Cebu. There times when Sun fail to update my twitter and facebook though I have sent an update.

    Well, i’m from cebu it seems. I was able to send the LOGIN message but should i be expecting for a reply? I tried sending tweets but I’m having problem getting thru at the moment. Thanks by the way :)

    ^^Hey I was in Cebu last weekend and my friend, who’s also in Cebu, was not receiving my sms sent from sun to sun. This is the second time it happened where I’m sending sms while in Cebu and never received.

    i got into this site http://sunalertz.com/web/ and they were referring to the same number (2555) with additional steps and i followed them and they actually worked lol. js :)

    hi,

    I just wanted to ask, doesn’t this work with regular prepaid load? the one that can text to any network…
    Coz i’ve been typing in BUY 1 and sending it to 2555, but i always get this message that says “Sorry, ‘BUY 1″ is not a valid keyword.
    Why is this?

      Hmm..that’s funny, this is my first time to encounter that. Perhaps you can do some troubleshooting:

      1.) Do you have enough load?
      2.) See whether your friends also experience the same?
      3.) Try tweeting without buying their package, see if it’ll register.
      4.) Try it again after sometime, might be Sun is having a maintenance or something.
      5.) Call Sun’s customer service.

      I’ll also try to register on my sister’s Sun, cause she also is using prepaid. I’ll give you feedback asap.

      @Alfan: I think I now know the problem. Try logging in before buying their package. So just type LOGIN username password. Then after you have already logged in, type in BUY 1 then send to 2555.

    I would suggest trying http://www.su.pr if you haven’t already come across it since your post .. this platform allows you to simultaneously update BOTH Twitter & Facebook status messages :) AND it’s from Stumble-upon so you get more clicks on your links etc which can also drive traffic to your website or your blog

      Sorry for the suuper late reply! Yes it will work as long as you’re Sun Cellular subscriber (postpaid/prepaid). It will work on your my|phone as well. :)
