On my last post, “5 Ways to De-Stress Online,” I showcased 5 internet/social-media services that can help us relax and just erase all the stress from our day job.
Now, I would add another services I use that helped me a lot in de-stressing online:
How can I forget about Facebook on my last post, for crying out loud!
Some things you can do with Facebook:
- Tweet: Facebook also offers a tweet-like services, wherein you can update your status: what you are doing, what are your thoughts, etc. etc. etc.
- Take quizzes: Know what is your name’s hidden meaning, know how gay or how evil you are, who are you in marvel superheroes. Well these quizzes are very entertaining. Try it!
- Instant chat: At the bottom right of your FB page, you can see your online friends whom you can chat with.
- Browse photos: Browse your friends’ photos, see the great places they have been.
- Play games: There are a lot of available games in FB. My favorites are Restaurant City and Farm Town.
- Kindly add if there are still more.
With these services Facebook offers, I can consider it as one of the ultimate de-stressor on the internet.
Another place where I play around is on Tumblr. Here you can see a lot of fun stuffs which you can share to your fellow twitterers, stumblers, and bloggers.
If you don’t feel like writing on your blog, perhaps you can make a tumblelog on tumblr and blog with ease. It’s just so fun and easy to blog on tumblr!
Things I do in Tumblr:
- Music: I upload my favorite songs to my tumblr. Then tagged them to help my visitors navigate with ease. Though you can only upload your music once per day, tumblr did a pretty decent job on its music service.
- Like and Reblog: As you follow (like on twitter) you can see your fellow tumblrs’ posts on your dashboard. You can easily click the ‘heart’ button if you liked the post, or click on reblog to share that post to your own blog. This is a fun way to sift through the gems on tumblr. I often liked around 3 to five posts and reblog one of them per day.
- Type in little thoughts: This is the beauty of tumblr, short and sweet. A little similar with twitter but it has its own taste. You can just share your thoughts in a very short, simple, and sweet manner. No hassles, no pressures, this is just you. So I just put everything I like and everything I want on it. Nice way to unleash the stress that’s still hanging up in our body.
I hope these additions will help enhance your experience online.
More information are welcome.
