Life Is Just A Matter Of Perspective

by JeD on July 2, 2009

We all experience adversities in life. It may be a problem, something we fear, or pain. We may feel that these adversities are making our life difficult and miserable. But don’t be blinded of what you feel about them, there’s more to them that they actually help us improve the quality of our life. It’s just a matter of perspective.

Let’s see how these adversities is essential for the improvement of our life:

Problems: Enriches one’s mind. Makes us wiser. Spark a deep conversation. Promotes camaraderie. Separate true friends from normal friends. Sense of achievement, once it’s solved. Spices up the everyday life. Bonds families. A reminder that our God is awesome.

Pain: Signals when we need to take some rest. Help us not to over work. Tells us when to stop. Makes us stronger when conquered. A safety device that measures our healthy-ness. Corrects us when we commit mistakes. A testimony that we love someone, or something.

Fear: Says to take care of ourselves. Teaches us to study hard. Help us to think a couple of times before deciding or doing something. Tells us to always prepare. Overcoming it can change one’s life.

Failure: There’s always a second chance. Teaches us to get up. Makes us stronger and wiser. Helps us gain more knowledge. Increases our maturity. Challenges us to try and try. Tests our persistence. Improve one’s character.

Mistakes: To give a chance for us to correct it. Make us realize what is correct. Foundation for wisdom and maturity. How would we know if we’re correct if there are no mistakes?

Loss: More room  for gains. Promotes renewal in life. Let go of the small things to receive something big.

Guilty Conscience: Signifies that one still have a clean conscience. Tells a person that he/she still knows what is right from wrong.

If you feel like life is hitting you real hard, perhaps shifting your life’s perspective a little bit can make a big difference on how you live your life.

“When your body hurts, pain reminds you to take a rest, or maybe to change your shoes or to find a better way.

When your mind hurts, pain reminds you to quit worrying or to be more forgiving, or to think a different way.

Pain is not your enemy. Pain is your friend!”

pain adn adversities for the strong-willed are nothing motivational factors to climb even harder. but for the vulnerable, these stuffs could make them reach the tipping point.

A good reminder of alternative ways to view adversity, to keep it from toppling us. elmot is right, too – they say God never gives us more than we can bear, but I swear he sometimes gives us more credit than we’re due. Anyway, steel is forged in fire, and so is our character.

Jed,

What’s good about perspective is that you can always have a positive outlook to any challenge presented.

I like what you said about loss and how there is always room for gain. This can be applied to almost everything, to life, love, business, friendship, and all sort of stuff.

A positive outlook in life does not make you carefree at all, rather, hopeful for improvement and evolution to fulfill ones dreams.

For me, the more you believe in the the goodness of another person, the more that person becomes good and will aspire more to uplift him/herself.

Napagod ako dun. he he he.

@Holly: Yeah life is so beautiful to look at it on a wrong angle. Adversities can break a person, while some break records.

@zorlone: That made a lot of sense, we always should be hopeful of improvements in our life and in our dreams. Some people stop doing what they really want because they fail one time.

Take my uncle as an example. He loves cars, but he’s not driving one. Why? Just because he got an ‘average’ car accident. Now he’s just doing “atras-abante” on their garage, and just let my aunt drive for him.

I say it’s madness to hate all the roses because of the torns.

Yup I agree, it’s all a matter of perspective. You can look at different situation on a positive or a negative light. Anyway it’s really nice to finally see you in person. Hope to see you more often too. :)
