Pardon me if the title may sound a little harsh for saying good bye to the year 2008, but this is what reality is. Just a few moments from now 2008 will be gone. I’m pretty sure some of us are having mixed emotions by now. Some are happy and very excited to meet 2009, however there are also some people who are saddened for the remaining minutes 2008 has. Well no matter how we react, 2009 will come whether we like it or not.
Perhaps there are people, for some reason, who still lives or attached themselves in the yesteryear. They still can’t move on or let go of the overwhelming pains or happiness they have experienced during that period. Some may be similar to my grandfather who still can’t accept the fact that my grandmother had passed away 5 years ago. Until now he just sits in his chair all day and talk to himself – or is he talking to my grandmother?
Well anyway, I pray that:
- May the pains and sorrows from yesteryear make us stronger to face the present and coming years.
- May the failures lessons that we learned will be applied and put in good use in our journey.
- May the success and happiness from yesteryear be our inspiration to do better and achieve greater heights!
RESOLUTION?
Hmm..It seems every year people are making list for their ‘New Year’s Resolution,’ which most of the time consist of unrealistic resolutions. Peace
. Well let me just share you one resolution that you may add to your list. Perhaps this will also be one of my resolution.
- Try something you haven’t tried before.
Okay, perhaps this resolution is kind of common. But this will help us grow and help us explore ourselves a little bit more. As one quote says: “You will never know what you’re good at until you try. When it doesn’t work, call it an “experiment,” not a failure.” Perhaps try something you really hate or something you fear about, you’ll never know maybe it could free you from that fear.
May we have a blessed and prosperous year ahead! Happy New Year!
