I would like to share a simple story that have been a part of me since the day it was shared by a friend.

(This is my version
)
There was a storm, or might as well call it a “Super Storm!” that struck a village. Everyone is vacating because the flood is going up and perhaps it can drown the whole village. There was this young and very religious man who’s very compassionate in helping every villagers to vacate.
The flood has risen up to the man’s waist, when a raft passed by telling him to get on the raft and flee the village. Instead he told the raft “Please save others first. I’ll be fine the Lord won’t let me die.” Then he send someone to be saved by the raft.
The storm got stronger and floods rise up to his chest, then a boat passed by. “Get on” said the boat. Then the man replied “Thank you, but please save others first. I’ll be alright the Lord will save me.” Then he offered the boat to someone else.
After awhile, the storm grew much stronger and the floods are up to his shoulders. A helicopter passed by, “Get on, if not you’ll surely die.” the helicopter said. Then once again he replied “Thank you, but please save others first. I will not die because the Lord will save me.” Then he let others climbed up the helicopter.
The Super Storm continued.. the floods went up and up until the whole village drowned. The young and religious man died. He was in Heaven, and he came face to face with the Lord. He then asked God “Why didn’t You saved me? Why did You let me drown and die? I have kept my faith. I even helped other people vacate. Why Lord? Why?” Then the Lord answered “Haven’t you seen the raft, the boat, and the helicopter? I had given you 3 opportunities to survive. But why didn’t you take it?”

The Lord often bless us opportunities through earthly matters. Sometimes we just need to pray and let Him guide us to see the opportunities He has opened for us. If we missed out one of His opportunities, it will surely offered to us several more times. But all the Lord can do is bless us with those opportunities, it’s up to us to take it.
